  1. You mad bro? we actually are closer to the high end and have NO problem with discussing it with the customer. We show them why we are there and why we provide better service. Come out of the woods and read Elons post, especially the part in bold, just because you don't like it doesn't mean it wont work.
  2. so you deal with the customers too? Yall sound like you never talk with your customers, if you want clarity, discuss it. If you take a job in and they got a quote are you just gonna do it without discussing anything with them?? Plus, have you even seen what it says on their site? Here is what it says on a water pump. Best Practices When replacing the water pump, the drive belts and/or timing belt may need to be removed. The belts should be replaced if they show signs of wear or coolant damage. The entire cooling system—including all the coolant hoses and fittings, radiator, coolant fan(s), and fan clutch (if equipped)—should be inspected when replacing the water pump. To help prevent future issues, we recommend replacing the thermostat when the cooling system has been opened for repairs (e.g. water pump or radiator replacement) or during a system flush. Common Symptoms Water pumps require replacement if they begin to leak coolant or become noisy. Leaking water pumps can result in damage to the drive and timing belts. A failed water pump can be caused by problems in the cooling system, such as a failing thermostat, radiator, or head gasket. So, it seems to me you just need to talk with your customers, we do and dont have problems, we are also priced to be within their ranges, if you want to price your repairs out of their range then thats your business. You want to make this confusing or so detailed people dont understand it or what? i dont understand the concept of what exactly are you going to do that makes this a really bad thing? i bet i know
  3. we have it as well and have the estimator on our website as well. what yall afraid of? the way you talk would make me fear going to some of your shops.
  4. we have the MaxiSYS and its great. I had a 2016 ram 1500 in here with a check engine light, updated the MaxiSYS on the fly and poof, 2016 coverage, love it.
  5. are they Confident they picked the right name for their business? i wanna sign up for the 36% interest. but no, i dont know them.
  6. there are no sales pitches in the technet online program, not sure about classroom but dont think there either. we have sent techs to it before and none came back saying anything about it.
  7. DO NOT do it yourself unless you are trained and understand SEO (search engine optimization)
  8. we get that too, if your desperate it will most likely get you out of a jam but really, its your choice. We have done it...
  9. kill them huh? a little far fetched. a plane could fall on the mall too, they would be there because they have extra cash now. We give money, money, money. Makes them happy and they are very appreciative as well as the owner. Dont overthink it. Giving them money gets each and everyone the perfect gift as they can buy with it what they want.
  10. well, how many techs? how many other employees etc? this is pretty broad but car count is low, aro is kinda low but without seeing everything then hard to gauge it
  11. We are up this year in sales numbers but slow during the fall to end of year and its typical, does the same every year.
  12. goodness, hard to read. help us with some paragraphs in the next one
  13. try joining one of the other threads on this subject, there are many on here, just search service writer pay.
  14. it does sound convincing but there is no guarantee of that either. I mean, there is always risk in advertising, well hell, risk in everything but its a hard sale to go from 300 a month program to that.
  15. thats a huge chunk of money each month, thanks for the information, hope it works good for you.
  16. how about telling us what it does cost. We arent a small shop but this looks expensive as shit.
  17. We allow radios, with easy rules -- have no problems. We allow phones -- as long as they arent hands on a car its ok and within reason - no problems. It seems to me maybe you guys dont have the ability to control your people, how come you cant lay down some rules and allow it. Do you ever take a phone call from your wife while at work? Why cant they? Ever made a phone call that was non business? Why cant they? Do as you wish, its your business but it appears to be a management problem to me, not the employees.
  18. shouldnt ati be monitoring and helping you with this? not trying to be offensive but your paying them for that, they should help. but there is so much ground to cover on this and data that needs to be looked at but start with your techs, inspections and your profit percentages, what are those btw?
  19. when did you do your research? VOIP companies have monetary guarantees of 99 or better up times. I think it would be harder to find analog systems these days. We have been on voip system lines since 2003 or 2004 and wouldnt ever consider analog again.
  20. we do it in house as well, ugh, why pay someone all your profits....
  21. So your answer is your not using him but your promoting him. What i dont understand is why cant you answer our questions, or better yet the person that owns the site. Do you have a vested interest in that site? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
  22. similar to ncauto here. Electrical diag and computerized diag is starting at 1 hour. Elec like broken wire tracing is however long it takes. 90% of check engine lights really only need an hour. We do half hour on leaks, noise etc as those typically dont take much time. If it does, we call the customer and explain it and havent had any problems to speak of.
