Bought myself and autographed copy a few years ago. Great read

I agree with Frogfinder Have a chiropractor that my whole family goes to that has his own personal guy who does all the work on his cars. He has told me so and since I respect his choice I don't bother him about it. But this chiropractor's staff all come to us and have our cards on their desk and refer work

They are always trying to get me to advertise with them. I haven't spent any money with them because there isn't much of a following for me in this area and I don't have many reviews so it wasn't worth my money. If you have a bunch of reviews, I would strongly consider it because people are already reviewing you anyway.

The "your insurance won't go up" horse crap was exactly that. I got the paperwork at the beginning of the year from my state issued self employed health insurance plan that my rates will be going up substantionally next year because the insurance plan (which sucks anyway) isn't enough for the minimums in Obamacare. Yea so much for my rates not going up.

So much for the line of crap about your premiums not going up. Just another lie to shove something down our throats. -
Knock Knock -- -- Who's There? Finding odd noises in a car
CARMandP replied to Gonzo's topic in AutoShopOwner Articles
I had a nissan altima not to long ago that had a rolling sound every time you hit the brakes. It was under the pass seat. I wasn't the first one to work on this car for this sound. I had to disassemble the entire right side of the interior until I found two metal ball bearings that had been placed inside the seat bolt down frame. Someone's idea of a practical joke. LOL -
Oh heck no. LOL

Welcome to the site. As a recent tech turned show owner I would strongly recommend getting the business training BEFORE you start the shop. Repairing the cars is the easy part, running a business is completely different.

Enjoying an absolutely beautiful week at Disneyworld with the family for a much needed break.

Info on Angie's List, anyone?

I have signed up with their free service and like you get calls all the time. I am not interested in spending any money with them at this time as they aren't very big in our area and since I have only one review on there it isn't worth my money. -
Its a little easier for us around here since we don't have a rust problem so cars hold up longer. I have scraped 3 in the last month due to expense to repair causing more than car is worth.

I would also check to see if you have a Heritage-Crystal Clean. http://www.crystal-clean.com/ They don't charge me for the oil filter pickup. I paid an installation fee for the 55 gallon drum and then the pickup and replacements of the drums are free. I also switched to them for my oil pickup as they are paying .60 a gallon for used oil as compared to Safety-Kleens .17 a gallon. They are also considerably cheaper on the parts washer solvent.

Advanced Autoparts buys Carquest/BWP
CARMandP replied to Junior's topic in Automotive Parts & Suppliers
I don't have a Carquest anywhere near me (unfortunately) and don't buy much at all from Advance because I haven't been happy with the quality of their parts. It should be interesting to watch.. -

Great story. Although I can't ever say I have used a piston groove cleaner (always used a broken piece of the old piston rings) LOL. Not vintage enough myself -
How were your Christmas sales this year? UP/DOWN

We were off bigtime Needed a good month and it didn't happen. January will be very tight. -
I like having a uniform service that cleans and maintains my uniforms for me. I currently use Unifirst but will probably switch to Cintas as soon as my Unifirst contract is up. Be careful to look closely at the paperwork and see if you signed a length contract.
