  1. That is the way to do it and be firm in dealing with them. They will respect you and be happy.
  2. All uniform companies are uniform companies if you know what I mean. I have used Aarmark, Cintas, Unifirst, and have bought my own. I am currently with Unifirst and they are ok. Here is my advice with any uniform company. Don't sign a five year contract. I negotiated mine down to 2 years. Secondly, change the contract termination notice language. They usually have some ridiculous requirement that people forget all about. If they protest I tell them that is the only way I will do business. This is how I do any contracts with either uniform companies or trash haulers. If you sign the standard contract you lose all leverage. Currently, my trash hauler started tacking on additional charges and at first I didn't say anything because I have been with them a long time and figure that they might be due a little extra money. However, when they got up to five add on charges and have increased the last three bills I said enough. I called them and told them I am dropping them. My costs will go from $140 to $90. I was only able to do this because I had scratched out and initialed their termination notice, length of contract, and increases provisions.
  3. Are you telling me there ain't no such thing as a free lunch.
  4. Welcome. I am not too far away from you in Evansville, Indiana.
  5. Has there been a final outcome on this situation? If so how was it resolved?

  7. Lawyers should never ask a Georgia grandma a question if they aren't prepared for the answer. In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand. He approached her and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know me?' She responded, 'Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realise you'll never amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you.' The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know the defence attorney?' She again replied, 'Why yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with anyone, and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him.' The defence attorney nearly died. The judge asked both counsellors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said, 'If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I'll send you both to the electric chair.
  8. To my knowledge Indiana doesn't have anything like that. You can get a temporary delivery permit that is good for 96 hours and of course dealers can get dealer tags.
  9. I have purchased Red Kap brand from these people. https://www.automotiveworkwear.com/Uniforms/Automotive-Uniforms.html

  16. Sounds too good to be true. A search of this company turns up absolutely nothing. Website is too amateurish for a large corporation with multiple locations. I figure this is some type of scam.
  17. We had a car come in with a custom hood to make it look like a Lincoln continental or whatever that look is called. This hood must have weighed at least one hundred pounds with worn out hood shocks and no prop rod. I had a guy working on it that weighed about one hundred twenty five pounds soaking wet. He used the old vice grips on the hood shock method to hold the hood up. This guy was suppose to be a Master Tech but he really did some dumb stuff while working for me. Like the time he spray carb cleaner into a throttle body with his face down in it. When cranked the car back fired and burnt his face and singed all his eyebrows off. Anyway he stood on the side of the car and removed the vice grip and almost lost his hands when the hood slammed down. At that angle and his slight weight and strength he had no chance to hold the hood up. It would have been bad except there was someone close by who lifted the hood off of his hands.
  18. Yep! I totally agree.
  19. My how times have changed. Over the past 24 months I have experienced something that has never occurred before in my 19 years in the business. On four different occasions I have interviewed potential employees, extended a job offer, offer was verbally accepted, a start day was established, we shook hands, and then the person never shows up and is never heard from again. Have any of you had a experience like that? I figure the place where they were at upped the offer and they decided that staying was easier and safer than leaving.
  20. It is really irritating. This last time I got two one star reviews with the same user ID must have used two different email addresses. This guy was nothing more than a common thief.
