About Amazon, I'm 1/2 joking but in reality they heavily modified Android to not resemble the typical Android operating system and tried to be unique. I believe the core is Android 2.3.5. With the Kindle Fire, you won't get your typical tablet apps or tablet experience. For one, the app market is not available. There are a bunch of them, but what you need to do is think about what operating system you want on it. Apple iOS? Then get an iPad. Android? then get an Android tablet with good hardware, like a Samsung Galaxy. The majority of them are Android based. I would stay away from Blackberry Playbook, bad reviews and OS, and no updates until February. You can get Amazon's tablet, but I wouln't...it's a hacked version of Android. Wait a little bit if you like Android, until a tablet is released with ICS "Ice Cream Sandwich" Android version, optimized for Tablets. You don't need to have a data plan with a tablet, just tether it with an app, like you said. I would also wait until the day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday...you should be able to pick a good one up between $250 - $350. I'm not crazy about any of the republican candidates. I thought Perry would give Romney a run, but seems he dropping in the polls, and Herman Cain is becoming popular. Newt is also on the rise......There just isn't any real front runner at this point. There's plenty of time though, but I think it will be a Romney/Christie ticket....vs. Obama/Clinton (Biden will be ousted!)

I heard about the President coming to Patterson on the news. Allot of places got hit bad that I thought would not be as bad as let's say coastal Long Island. Even upstate NY around Hunter Mountain got hit hard.

We finally got power back.

Have some friends that are coming up from Long Island to stay with us, because they were told they should evacuate. They are close to the south shore. I think we'll just get some strong winds and some downed trees here. Hopefully power will not go out. My wife and I went to the grocery store yesterday and they were all out of water!!! Everyone is preparring I guess.
