How do you find a good, qualified graphic design service or provider?

Recommended Posts

There are so many sites where you can hire a freelance graphic designer;

99designs.com was mentioned earlier, there is also:

elance.com

outsource.com

fivver.com

behance.com

coroloft.com

Generally, designers have a portfolio and reviews you can look at before hiring. If you google freelance graphic design you usually find a lot of articles that list different sites.

I use a company called UZ Marketing which is based out of Houston, TX. They have done a ton of work in our industry. Check them out, but like the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I am a sucker for modern, sleek, simple designs, and they excel at that.

Anyway, I heard about them through thumbtack. Give that site a try, and their competitor Fiverr

Hi Harry. Feel free to check out www.ImageOneAds.com and look at the portfolio section. I'm a former shop owner that has been doing branding, graphics and postcard marketing for shops around the U.S for the last 25 years.

If you're thinking about using EDDM postcards, your postage is the same up to a huge 8.5X11 piece. That's a whole lot of ad "real estate" for 17 cents postage. We have found the best results with cards that are 6X11" and we recommend mailing 5000 at a time with no expiration date on the offers.

If I can answer any questions for you, just give me a call. There's no charge for advice. Robert 800-536-3030

Hi, Bob.

I already do EDDM, I usually run 20k pieces per mailing, I use gotprint.com for printing http://www.gotprint.com/store/pricing.html

6.5"x12" 4/4 full color cost me less than $5,600. for 20k pcs

It has been a real good deal so far, but much has to do with the design and offers. Cheap pricing only brings worthless candidates.

Hi Harry. You're absolutely right...design is critical...even WITH the right offers. That's where we shine. Our design isn't cheap, but it's a tested formula we have used for 20 years.

If you look at our portfolio section on ImageOneAds.com, you'll see some samples under the postcard category. You can check out Matt Motley's comments on here about the effectiveness of the cards. He says "the majority of his customers are coming in from the cards."

We had Wharton Business School in Philadelphia test our graphics "formula" years ago and found our designs pulled an average 400% better than any of the others.

Our printing prices are the same, but we offer a thicker card stock (16pt) on premium paper with a heavy UV coating (super high gloss plastic look), which GotPrint doesn't offer. I can send you some samples if you want. Just let me know.

A recent study, done by Harvard Business School, concluded that the real problem with attracting and retaining employees has more to do with the workplace environment, not pay or benefits. While the study did find that an adequate pay plan and offering an attractive benefits package did help with recruiting and retention, it’s not enough to satisfy the needs of employees, especially those of front-line workers.
The study also stated that in 2021, many companies were convinced that giving raises, sign-on bonuses, and other perks would solve the worker shortage problem and prevent people from quitting. However, this strategy did not work. So, what does work regarding attracting quality people and keeping them employed?
Essentially, it all comes down to the culture of your company.  Management: do all it can to consider the individual needs of your employees. Your employees want to feel that they have a voice, that their opinion counts, and that their role in your company is both respected and recognized. Yes, pay and a great benefits package will go a long way toward making your employees feel secure, but that’s only financial security. People want more than money.
To attract and keep top talent requires creating a company that people feel proud to work for. You need to reach the hearts and minds of your employees. Become a leader that people are enthusiastic about working for. You want your employees bragging to their friends and family that your shop is a great place to work!
Step one to attracting and retaining quality employees: Create an amazing workplace environment for your employees!  Trust me, happy employees make happy shop owners too!

One of our listeners emailed in with the following question.
I Always wondered why, when we have another marketing company review and grade our website, it always come out pretty crappy on the scorecard? From loading speed, to keywords, SEO, overall performance etc. I have used Lighthouse and some other things to gauge the performance, but the numbers never seem to match what the other party produces. I feel like some marketing companies use smoke and mirrors for selling their websites that really may not be any better than what we already have. I’m sure this is an issue for others too.
We answer that question in this episode.

One of the biggest complaints we hear from shop owners is they don’t trust the numbers from their CRM. They have good reason for this. In the world of marketing, we refer to the connection of dollars earned to the marketing channels that produced those dollars as “attribution”. This week we talk to Justin Rae, founder of Cinch CRM.  Justin talks with us about attribution and his passion for creating accurate numbers that the shop owner can trust.
      Talking Points
Attribution defined, and Justin’s history with creating trustworthy attribution How long revenue be attributed to a single marketing action Multi-channel attribution The types of marketing actions can you give attribution to with a CRM
