keeping cost under control
Framingham Auto Service posted a topic in Expense Management, Rent, Taxes
What expense percentage model do you try to achieve? I'm Current trying to achieve the following: Parts Cost- 30% Labor Cost- 30% Fixed Expense- 20% ( Currently not been able to maintain under 20%, due to loan and equipment lease) Net Profit- 20% Any inputs? Thanks! -
Been offering finance through CarCareOne for the past 3 years, with a decline rate of 70%. The rule here is: If they did not approve, why should I ! We have tried in house finance and it does not work.

Auto Vitals
Framingham Auto Service replied to flacvabeach's topic in Management Software, Web Sites & Internet
We have been using them for almost 2 years. We are very happy, our customers loves the digital report. ARO went up about 12%. We have the total package with the website and social media. -
Do you guys offer a loaner car? if yes, how does the liability part of it work? Thanks.

Same thing with us here! At first I was scared when the numbers dropped, but them I realized that the profit was better! So instead of filling the bays with non profitable work we focus our attention on the good customer. Selling less volume but making a better profit. Great Topic!

Unfair competition, it's just not fair! You invest lots o money on tolls, equipment and training. You create an excellent environment for the customer, work hard every day to have an excellent customer service and then comes the statement: The guy down the street can do it for less! I have 25 shops around me and at least 20 of them it's unfair competition. I'm always redoing their work, but people still goes back because of the price. They don't do any mark up on parts and only charge 35 dollars in labor to replace brake pads on any vehicle. I did the math many times and it does not add up. How can they survive? stressful!!!!!

Tpms servicing
Framingham Auto Service replied to CAautogroup's topic in Auto Repair Shop Management Help? Start Here
We used a Snap On TPMS3 it works well. If you look at a labor guide, in my case ALLDATA it usually says 0.6hr to replace and program each sensor. When some one comes in (used car dealers/ other repair shops) just to re program the sensors we charge 0.5hr. Junior.
