I'd like to see some solid results and feedback from the industry at large about this company. Their website isn't too impressive. I like the fact that Kukui is a proven commodity and has been working tremendously well for me for almost 2 years. If there is a company out there that can do even more for me I'd love to hear more.
Your doing great think how much better it could be . long load time ? i would call them they should be able to fix the speed easily. Click on thumbnail to see test or test it yourself. http://www.webpagetest.org
Adam uses hubspot it is proven. Give him a call can't hurt.

Thought I would give website link too just so others can see.

Everyone should test site speed here it's a comprehensive test of your sites lack of speed.

Hi Handson, It seems like Kukui is for set it and forget it shops. They have lots of great features and reporting . i cant understand why there is no content when you go mobile. I guess it is to make a person take action. It seems when i have tried that in the past it made the bounce rate rocket much higher. Visitors time on site seems like it is connected to getting more leads IE calls, appointments, email and addys from coupons and other call to actions.
I like the features of Kukui but the not have my site on my server seems like a deal breaker. The prices will go up and if you leave you need to make a new site.
Anyone on a Kukui site cut and paste as much content as possible so you have it if you want to leave Kukui
$1000 a month and the site is slowwww

My site i undergoing a massive overhaul with software similar not as good in some ways but will not cost as much and for sure will and already does search better then a cookie cutter site very light on content .
Want the best call he uses Hubspot. Adam is super smart. http://www.businessactualization.com/auto-repair-shop-inbound-marketing-services

Cool if it works for you.Must be nice not to have to rely on service writers to do the right thing. You sound like you have your labor under control. We are still working on it.

By far the hardest part of owning a shop. I seem to like hire young and train them .So far it has worked .But i do need 1 more superman to do diag.
The dinosaurs are extinct so will all the shops not learning the newest tech.

I do what carbtech does. I also pay my techs salary so i dont have to worry about them rushing. I also market appropriately so i dont get price shopping calls. I always offer to look at the car for free but insist on seeing it before giving a price. I have a 95% closure rate and cover diag time with a better profit margin and high average ro and high jobs written per ro. Customers never feel like they payed for nothing and i can focus more on educating about maintaining and the repairs and spend less time trying to teach them why a charge is written as diag instead of just adding .5 to an hour across the ro as .1 or .2 per job. I am not lying to the customers any more then you are when you sell a $0.49 light bulb for $3.49.
If some one ever asks why the extra time (has not happened yet) I explain that we torque everything. Which we do. Or that we needed extra time for research or any other number of legitimate reasons. People that do not like to pay for diag will not notice they are if you can hide the extra charges without being too agressive about it.
Free code checks and free tire pressure checks should be thought of in the same way and your missing out on a very loyal customer base if your not doing both. I just had an argument with a local dealer because the customer wants to bring the car here and the girl at the counter would not tell me what code it had without getting $100. Really? You know autozone will right? Customers arent that stupid any more.
Marketing.. if your using discount coupons to get new customers your asking for price shoppers. If your putting out coupons then getting mad at price shoppers your really throwing all of that marketing money away. A coupon as a business owner says i am Willing to do some discount work to gain volume. If you do not want people calling for a price stop the coupons and focus on your reviews.
If you do get a referral and they need a price give it to them. If you earn that refferals business it will usually fan out again when they say they found you cause so and so referred them. If you turn away that referenced person or blow them off when they call for a price, they will instead tell the person that referred them that you were rude and you could lose both as customers.
MOM and pop shops might be able to afford to do diag for free. I also see a 10% off coupon on your site and lots of old car in the shop. Lets see you diag a no start on a 2012 BMW or Audi for free. If it works for you thats great but for most shop owners i know .Nothing is free my overhead does not allow it. Light bulbs or tire psi check oil is ok buy eng diag no way.

Wow real warrantee IE: service contracts companies pay us just fine and pay msrp. Learn how to find the customers with real policies. We are located near a few Carmax stores maxcare pays ok .The new car dealers ie VW AUDI BMW MB sell great exclusionary policies.
125 per hr and msrp. whats the problem with that.
Please send me all your extended warranty work i will take it.
Our customers with stated policies don't have a big problem paying the difference in cost between the crappy payments and the real cost.

Wow this subject has a lot of interesting answers. Be careful of GWC they have a $75 cap per hr and want to send crappy parts. INDS - INTERSTATE used to be good but now they send used parts and want to pay cost on dealer parts or send them. Its ok i will take the labor . I love when the parts fail and they pay us 2-3 times over the course of the policy.

Understanding the warranties is a art that took me 25 years.I am a prefered repair center for 3 companies.
We promote warranties that Neal from the American Automobile Association AAA sells.
Maxcare, Fidelity, and a few others are policies that are great. Exclusionary policies are the ones we hunt for.

I have been thinking of doing some advertising online? Anyone else have any thoughts of this? I have found some places, but they all seem like stationary websites. They don't actually advertise for you. (Example: www.bimmershops.com). Sorry, I accidentally posted this in the wrong section previously.
www.bimmershops.com and all of i85media.com/directories seo the unreal the best online money can buy positive ROI.

Keep the warrantee work coming .They take time and you have to learn how to negotiate. Its a give and take.
We only accept warrantees that we have copies of the exact policy.
If you are a very small shop i can see how it could affect your workflow.
I have a policy no inspections till after 1pm .This way the waiters don't get pushed aside and the tech can explain the failure as per the exact contract.

How about calling it check out time. Then if the person asks i say what kind of job do you have.
Do you get paid for the time you spend at work.
Most of the real customers understand .If they bark then you can say i will discount part of the checkout time if you do the job with us.
It works most of the time.

We sell about 4 to 5 cars a month . Works pretty good for us we give a 30 to 90 day 50-50 warranty .
Only sell cars that everything works . Try to stay under $6000 . 80% of the cars and sell to customers that are already mine.- 1

Book keeper, who's got one? What do you pay?

Wow you all are efficient. I have a bookkeeper 20-25 hr a week $15-$17 per hr. I don't know how i would run the business without one.
She takes care of tracking insurance, new hires, inputs the totals from each day. Reconciles the merchant account.
Checks on the loaner car paperwork to make sure we have all service records in compliance.
Pays traffic tickets and chases down the customer who got them .
Keeps track of appointments and schedules new ones.
Pays all the bills and helps answer the phones when all more than 3 lines are in use.
and so much more. If i didn't have a bookkeeper i would need a personal assistant for sure.
