So now that we have had the ability to be active in the mobile world...it's time to update our mobile site again! With the addition of our brand new gallery section announced last week here, and some other updates, we needed to make sure our mobile site can handle not only the updates but all the new data phones and users purchasing them.

As always, we strive to provide the best user experience on ASO. Our new mobile site is a bit different than the one we started with. It works very nice with the major mobile OS systems out there: iPhone, Android, Blackberry, WebOS, and a few others. You can login and out, post to and start new topics, manage your blogs, send messages, view member status entries, view photos, and more!

* When browsing, there is a little box on the top right corner, which brings out a menu. There you can sign in and out, and access other features.

It's been tested on the models below:

When visiting AutoShopOwner, your data phone will be automatically detected and you will be browsing using the most up to date mobile site here.

Some phone screenshots below, click to enlarge.

Please post if you have any issues.

It always amazes me when I hear about a technician who quits one repair shop to go work at another shop for less money. I know you have heard of this too, and you’ve probably asked yourself, “Can this be true? And Why?” The answer rests within the culture of the company. More specifically, the boss, manager, or a toxic work environment literally pushed the technician out the door.
While money and benefits tend to attract people to a company, it won’t keep them there. When a technician begins to look over the fence for greener grass, that is usually a sign that something is wrong within the workplace. It also means that his or her heart is probably already gone. If the issue is not resolved, no amount of money will keep that technician for the long term. The heart is always the first to leave. The last thing that leaves is the technician’s toolbox.
Shop owners: Focus more on employee retention than acquisition. This is not to say that you should not be constantly recruiting. You should. What it does means is that once you hire someone, your job isn’t over, that’s when it begins. Get to know your technicians. Build strong relationships. Have frequent one-on-ones. Engage in meaningful conversation. Find what truly motivates your technicians. You may be surprised that while money is a motivator, it’s usually not the prime motivator.
One last thing; the cost of technician turnover can be financially devastating. It also affects shop morale. Do all you can to create a workplace where technicians feel they are respected, recognized, and know that their work contributes to the overall success of the company. This will lead to improved morale and team spirit. Remember, when you see a technician’s toolbox rolling out of the bay on its way to another shop, the heart was most likely gone long before that.

My Facebook Ads are showing to people way outside of my service area (not set up right) My social media doesn’t seem to be providing a return on investment (Junk smm) I never see my Google Ads when I search for my business (low budget) I don’t show up in the Map Pack when I search for auto repair near me, and I’m searching while I’m in my business (connected to wifi) My website is too slow (pictures too big or cheap hosting) My website doesn’t come up when people search for mechanic near me (stock content) I get lots of leads but they don’t turn into customers (Your SA sucks) My marketing looks like every other shop’s marketing (are you talking to your marketers?) The shop is slow. It’s time to turn our marketing back on. (never stop marketing)
