  1. We have a hawk eye elite and we absolutely love it for about 3 years now. Road force balancer is also awesome and we have it over 3.5 years but as far as the tire machine I don't think its worth the money they are asking. Especially looking at it and seeing how many things can go wrong. When I was researching a tire machine I settled on a corghi 500. It's a great machine, simple enough to operate and repair if needed. Had it for 6 month now and no complains at all. It does everything we throw at it with ease.

  2. We raised our price from 75 to 85 at the beginning of the year and I did not get any resistance from customers at all. We also went from 24 to 30 dollar oil changes and I fixed my price matrix significantly. Last year we did 350000 in sales and that was out 4th year. This year we are on track to finish around 600000 and at a lot better profit margins. Thanks to some management training, ATI one day class and 2 day repair shop coach class and ratchet and wrench articles we almost doubled sales in one year.

  3. We have Verus pro for most of the things we need to do. I think it's a great all around tool especially with the last two updates that made it faster. Sometimes I'm actually surprised at what it can do. I love that I have 4 channels of scope with such great sampling rate even when using all 4 channels. It is pricey.

We also have launch for some of the things snap on didn't do before but now it's catching up fast.

We have bow gt1 and Mercedes star 3. For gm if we need something that we can't do with Verus we use passthru J2534 and subscribe for whatever time we need it for. Same with some other manufacturers. I don't see myself switching to all oem any time soon.

  4. I tried motologic but it didn't stick with my guys for some reason because they are so used to shopkeypro, identifix and iatn. I canceled it and signed up for motoskill. I love the amount of data they have on there and I have been doing shop owner/service writer/telephone person training and I really like it. The only draw back is that it seems almost impossible to get the techs to want to do the training also. But obviously its mot motoSkill problem.

When I was at Honda our training progress would get emailed to service director. It would be nice if motoSkill had some kind of tracking in it so the owner could see what the techs are doing

  5. I read that magazine from cover to cover within 1 day of getting it. Thank you to Joe and people like him for putting in such a great effort into making us better as shop owners. I have been open for 5 years starting from scratch and that magazine gives me inspiration to keep moving my business forward and ideas on how to grow it faster and more efficient. I hope to be one of their featured shops in some near future. Thanks again.

  6. If you are considerate of the shopowners time and keep your promises you will do ok. Way too many salespeople are not interested in selling you anything it seems. I had garage door company stop by to drop of a flyer. I was interested in getting new doors installed but the promise of an estimate never happened. Then I got a flier in the mail from the same company. Called them and was told that somebody will be out tomorrow to give me an estimate. Since then I have received two more mailings from them but still no estimate or company representative : )
