We are doing the same thing but looking at other companies currently. I talked to Bolt On (very expensive $300 per month and somehow they work with Mitchell so they both get a cut according to a competitor). And now we are looking at Repair Shop Solutions DVI  $110 per month (Digital Vehicle Inspection) 

I would like to hear from other shops on their experience with these different platforms.

We want to increase productivity and would like to use iPads for the Techs where they could use it to get info and pictures over to the service writer.And to be able to speak into the pad and eliminate typing would be a huge plus. We have Mitchell 1 does anyone know of a system that would work?

What outside answering service do you use? That may help us with our overload of calls we have the same set up as you and like it. We pay $233

We are in desperate need of techs. I tried Indeed and was very dissatisfied with the "talent" they sent us. I am considering Find A Wrench they post on Indeed as well as Zip Recruiter and some 90 other companies as well as social media. Has anyone tried them or ACT Auto Staffing?

With hiring, this is easy.   You stroll into other shops and solicit their employees == stealing.   You advertise and put the word out that you are hiring and other shop employees apply == recruiting.   Everyone got to my place by quitting somewhere else and for sure, they will quit here to work elsewhere in the future.  

I can't see us "stealing" employees in their own shop. Advertising has gotten us nowhere in our area with the shortage of experienced techs. 

Disputing through your credit card company is another option.

We just got our money too! We have two local banks and I applied through both. One came through with the paperwork within a day while the other did not respond until the money was gone. That bank just sent an email that said we could pre-apply in case the SBA added more funding!

We are thankful. The bank highly recommended paying payroll and utilities straight out of the account they set up which has been a little stressful since payroll is Monday but I think I can swing it. This will be a huge help during this time.

We spoke to our accountant, bank and read the paperwork.  The only stipulation was that at least 75% needed to be used towards payroll and the rest to utilities and rent for an 8 week time period. Any money left over after that time period will have .5% fixed rate. We plan on using all the money towards our employees & expenses so I am not sure what conditions we need to worry about?

We just submitted our application for the SBA Paycheck Protection Program. Two different accountants said it is a no brainer. It will pay for all the employees and us the owners for 8 weeks plus money towards rent/lease and utilities. And we don't have to pay it back! No fees either!

Just wondering how many lifts do other shops have per tech? We have 5 lifts with 3 &1/2 techs and we still need more. To add more lifts we need a expansion and then we need to try to find a quality tech.

Come to think of it more and more gas stations charge an extra free for credit as does the government.

I was researching online and they started up Nov. 2017. I notice no physical address on their site it just says they are located in Atlanta Georgia with offices listed across the country. 

Just got an email about Blue Yonder CC processing that sounds too good to be true. They say they only charge is $65 a month no start up fees, no transaction fees, no equipment fees, no hidden fees and no cancellation fees. It says it is compliant in all 50 states. Very tempting to try but I have been burned in the past. They are focusing on Auto Shop owners. Wondering what everyone else thinks about this. We would save over 10K a year.

That is an interesting website that I will have to explore further. We are using our bank which averages overall about 2%. They provided the machine free of charge with no contract. Square is more expensive and seems to be suited better to small sales.

Repair Shop Websites has been pestering us for awhile. They remind us we are not mobile friendly etc.etc. Their prices are reasonable but I have not heard anything on this forum. Anyone look into or use this company?

RyanGMW is jrcredit still working out for you? We are entertaining the idea of switching if the prices are right.

We are going to Hawaii through CarQuest . Didn't hear about the WorldPac Cruise.

Do you do the bonus by a calculation of profits? Trying to figure out how to do it mathematically and curious how others do it. If everyone is on the same page about the shop making a goal or amount at the end of the year then they can expect a certain percentage. That way if the shop does not make it neither do they.
