Labor Rates are going up! Finally!
TonyGatto replied to Joe Marconi's topic in Pricing, Discounts, Labor Rate
I raised my rates gradually over the year.I’m up to $140 hour on my retail customers, and $175 on National accounts as they all want a 10% kickback to be considered a preferred provider. No one usually check labor rates. If they actually ask what the labor rate is it’s $75.00 per half hour, so at least they know there is a charge to look at it jmho- 55 replies

I negotiate the hourly labor rate and use Mitchell labor guide for times and prices. Most fleets look at quick turnaround time and not pricing-as long as it’s fair

BUY A TOW TRUCK OR SUBLET TOWING?
TonyGatto replied to Shopcat's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I applied to the local AAA affiliate about 6 years ago, forgot about it, and recently received a call asking if I wanted the area. Approximately 2,000 calls a year at an average of $55 per call. I would need 2 reliable service vehicles and using the 2,000 calls as a baseline, hopefully pickup insurance company calls and private calls from my current customers, it broke even at best. (I do not have a reliable vehicle so I would have to purchase trucks. The hope being I would tow the repairs to my shop.) Insurance was the killer. I sublet. JMO Tony
