  1. We do mostly trucks, but I made a push bar that has a clevis on one end and a two inch ball coupler on the other. Hooks between the receiver hitches and with my truck can move most anything. Even moved a tour bus once [snapped the input shaft in my tfans but got it moved].
  2. Do yourself a favor and get an energy logic. Been dealing with them for years. Very low maintenence. Have a clean burn now, and it is light years behind an energy logic.
  3. I see some shops are comparing their shops with others in their area, How do you go about this? Anonymous phone calls? Or do you have this close of a relationship. Appreciate all the help.
  4. Being fairly new to owning my shop, it's nice to hear others have had problems like this. I try not to take these complaints personally, but I pride myself in my quality and it cuts to the heart. Thank god for this forum and its members.
  5. I have this problem with customers all the time. The diesel truck side of things is even worse. According to the internet this is what is wrong, this is how long it takes and this is how much the parts cost, and if it doesn't match up, I'm the crook.
  6. Had a conversation today with a customer that I had repaired his duramax about two months ago. Says he was happy with the repair but I charged about $1500 too much. Says he called and got prices on parts after repair and says he can get parts for less. Try to explain that I have to mark parts up to make a profit. That is what your labor is for. Says other shops only charge what you can get parts for. How do you deal with customers like this? I personally know my labor and price markups are less than other shops. By the way repair was both head gaskets, heads rebuilt and three new injectors on a duramax diesel, A very expensive repair, but also advised him not to buy the truck originally.
