Keys, What are they good for? --- Sayin' goodbye to the ignition key
kenk replied to Gonzo's topic in AutoShopOwner Articles
boy of boy, that last comment was longer then the story! Gonzo, you really picked a controversial touchy subject this time! One more point you forgot, you won't be able to damage the ignition switch anymore, with (weights)by putting all your keys on one key chain! -

Old is New - what turns most cars into 'used' cars?
kenk replied to Gonzo's topic in AutoShopOwner Articles
gonzo: Never sold or got rid of car for any of the above reasons you mentioned. usually it is something that can't be fixed reasonably like my old dodge where the under body rusted out so badly it effected the steering and was not safe. The other one needed a steering rack and since it too was a Chrysler and not made that well, with rust on the under body after 15 years, not worth putting money into it. always did the maintenance and when that is not good enough , I got rid of the car while the car does not owe my anything! -

Lifetime warranties - They're not like they used to be
kenk replied to Gonzo's topic in AutoShopOwner Articles
one time I brought a lifetime heater core from pep boys. The first one lasted about two years and the second one was bad right out of the box, so I asked for my money back and got it. Meant I had free use of the heater core for 2 years and decided to buy one with not such a longtime warranty and it is still good today about 15 years later! -

kenk replied to Gonzo's topic in AutoShopOwner Articles
some people try to over simplify because it gives them confidence that they can repair it. They just don't want to believe it is more complicated then they thought!
