    It's hard to find techs. The other problem I am running into is my customers trusting my other tech to work on their car.

    I am in the process of slowly upping my labor rate. I am sick of customers complaining about my parts prices. A little less on parts and more labor.

    I am not a specialty shop. I will pretty much try anything that comes in my door. A couple weeks ago I did head gaskets on a Toyota avalon. This past week I did radiator on a rear engine motor home. I have gotten bit on some jobs. But it has opened me up to a lot more customers. Long hours and a understanding wife. My customers appreciate my honestly. I think that's why they are a little flexible when things may take an extra day. Plus a couple of good loaner cars just in case of emergency

    My local parts store's are now selling struts 15 dollars over my cost. They flat out told me it's all about retail.

    I have been running my shop for 5 years now. I have a part time secretary and part time tech. Business is good. Not afraid to say we did 450 thousand last year. Wondering if I should keep going or if a franchise might help move me into the next level. Goodyear in the next town over is frustrating me. There customers are coming to me when they sell them Kelly Springfield tires at Goodyear prices and they have a shimmy from the tires

    I ha a snap on verdict. Horrible. Snappy wants me to upgrade to a verus. I have a ford ids. Should I be going most oe scan tools. Has anyone ran into the need of tools for direct injection engines?

    Currently my bumper dealer and advanced auto are running deals for walk in customers. Every strut is only 15 dollars over my cost. It goes all summer. Wow. I pay extra for being a certified center.

    It seems like I work 10 hours to bill the 6. It's hard finding good help. What comes first profit or extra help?

    The only stores I have are advanced auto and Napa. Is world pac strictly online?

    This maybe the wrong place to post this. But my problem is my parts store is charging customers 5 dollars over my cost. So when I give a customer list price on a part they come and tell me it's bull. Customers are getting the same price I am.
