  2. Awesome! I see from your website that you grew up in a shop just like I did. We live in West TN and my husband actually works in Nashville (Cowan Street...just off of Jefferson St near downtown). I sent a connection request to you on LinkedIn. We just purchased a commercial building (needs a ton of work) in our hometown of Savannah, TN. We plan to open an auto paint/body shop there soon. I might pick your brain on a few things occasionally, if that's ok?
  3. Yes, I agree...Square sounds expensive compared to the others many have listed in this post. I have a friend who runs a local window tint shop and another friend who runs a local auto detail shop. Both use Square...or at least they did the last time I was in their shops which has been a year or two. I could see, though, where spending a little time researching these options could save a business quite a substantial amount of money each month.
  4. This is definitely something my husband and I need to research further before opening the shop. I found this article that is specific to auto shops that I am going to look into further. Thought this might be useful to others, as well. I would love to know if any of you have used any of these and your opinions of them. Someone had recommended Swipe and Square to me a while back so I thought this was something we would not really even need to research but it looks like we might be back at the "research" part on this (when I compare their rates to those y'all have listed above, they seem rather high). Anyway, here's the link: https://www.cardpaymentoptions.com/credit-card-processing/best-automotive/
  5. Hi, I just wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. I am Natalie Spears from Savannah, Tennessee. My husband, Tommy, and I have a goal to open an auto body shop in the future. We are spending a lot of time researching EVERYTHING before we take that leap. I hope to gain a lot of additional knowledge on the business end of things by joining a few forums and getting involved. Currently, he is working out of our home garage which is not optimal, but is certainly better than nothing. Like many of you, he was taking things apart and putting them back together before age 10. He is unbelievably talented and has amazing skills with anything mechanical in nature. I, on the other hand, will handle the business end of the company. My background and current profession is bookkeeping so we hope this combination will lead to a successful business partnership. I look forward to learning great things on here!
