Alignment Machine Jan 2024
airbagbob replied to Hands On's topic in Automotive Shop Tools & Equipment
The engineer that does the installs. With that we have an area rep that is local. My scissors rack is heavier and very well designed at a comparison price difference of $30,000.00 I have an Atlas 4 post in my other shop and it has had it problems and service from Atlas is poor. The Autel equipment works well for me and this one was made to order for me. Autel didn't sell this lift when I bought mine. Its from TLS in Ontario Canada. I was so please I bought a 2 post Asymmetrical/Symmetrical for EV service and I got the EV battery table from BendPak. -
Alignment Machine Jan 2024

to just do alignments for me would be tough, However with the introduction of ADAS that many times requires proof of alignment and where thrust angle and other items related to alignment systems we found we could not work without an alignment rack. We went a different direction than Hunter in we went with AUTEL alignment with the scissors lift made by TLS of Canada and The Autel tower and full ADAS accessories pack for less than Hunter was without ADAS components. The system makes it so we can do traditional alignments as well as ADAS and has all of the targets, fixtures and radar, lidar and camera targets required. Made our investment back in a little over a year as ADAS alignments are very lucrative. We took delivery 11/22 and we are now opening a new (third) location in3 months (signing lease for new 4000 sq ft shop this week). Autel lift can be flush mounted or surface mounted. 65525672605__9983364F-3DE2-4914-A3B5-015CEB7000EA.heic -
Some say best way to build a 3 million dollar shop would be to spend 6 million and then sell it. But you don't have to spend a lot to make a multimillion dollar shop. Space is important. Quality equipment and tools. Cleanliness and above all quality workmanship. We have two shops one is 3400 sq ft and our newest is 5000 sq ft. We primarily work with body shops and a few dealerships providing airbag replacement including seat upholstery changeouts plus headliners and dashes. We also do wiring repair and harness replacement as needed. ADAS services including wheel alignment in both units plus typically 3 or more techs out on jobs at the body shops. We also have a bit of work with AC recovery and charges. Our business is primarily a labor operation that is set up to let the body shop make its money on the parts for the jobs. If we were selling those parts we would easily be over 4 mil gross as our current flow puts this year at 1.4million in labor sales (thanks to west coast labor rates and happy customers. The advantages for us is we do not deal with the individual owners of the cars and we don't have to bill the insurance companies or deal with the adjusters. I took me years to understand the value of the work we do and finally realized our rates were to low. Our pricing is set below what a dealer would charge and we have found that we can pay our techs well, pay our bills on time and eliminated having to pay for bank loans anymore.

MaxiSys ADAS Calibration Tool
airbagbob replied to autoguy's topic in Automotive Shop Tools & Equipment
Our investment with new scan too (bound to the adas tower) was close to 24,000 for the complete system. If you are only interested in windshield calibration you can buy less components or buy the new A600 tower and targets. 9k plus your Autel Scam tool with at minimum of ADAS update software at around 900
