Was CustomerLink recommending sending a text message ad to all your customers? If so, I can see this having a negative impression. Curious if they have success with this anywhere.

Law requires that if you are sending something for promotional services, you're required that the customer opts in themselves. So no sending a text message without consent.

We're probably going to move away from customer link soon. Their postcards were useless, and their review system stays..on their review system. Its nice to have all the reviews, but they aren't in the most effective place - like they would be on bing and google (I'm looking at going with overdrive strategies maybe, for reputation stuff. they were recommended to me by a friend). But i've moved our email marketing off, over to just mail chimp, I think the demographic photos are a bit cheesy, and I doubt their effectiveness. Looks cool from shop owners perspective, but that may be the extent. Looking into replacing all they do to save $300.

  2. We use MechanicNet. The people are great and very helpful. Just make sure that your colors and logo are on all post cards and emails. You always want to brand your company over and over again. Brand awareness is perhaps more important than the offering on the card or email.

Got caught up with things and just making it back to the forums. Plan on sticking around a bit more often now - thanks for your response. Yup. We were using customer link but weren't really seeing a ROI from post cards. I feel people get blinded just like with email. Need a new form of marketing. Text message is where it's at I think, but getting the initial opt in seems to be a hurdle unfortunately.

  3. Just curious about the SEO stuff. To those that are familiar with web results please google auto repair in Little Falls NJ and tell me what you think about the results and take a look at my website. I feel that I have good results and it's nowhere near 1K a month

Hey I have some feedback about your ranking/site. Want to make sure you'll notice if I post though. WIll you?

When we send out recommendation emails and postcards, there is $10.00 rewards discount for spending over $100 and $15.00 for over $150.00. Follow up, recommendations, booking the next service, making follow up calls, are all great ways to keep a constant flow of customers coming thru your bays.

Do you use a company or do you do all the postcards yourself?

Thanks folks. I am going to offer the free rotate for just the reasons Xrac mentioned. And I am considering the rewards, just not sure what to offer. Joe do you offer discounts to return for recommendations, dollars off, percentage off? I am into our "slow" season here and am hoping to ramp up sales. Just today got set up with a postage meter to make it easier to do the mailers and post cards. I admit I been slacking with my follow ups and mail outs. Anyways thanks for the input and if anything else comes to mind let me know! THANKS!!

We just signed up with customer link to do our emailing and post cards. they have a pretty good program I think. Going to be able to evaluate a lot better after 2-3 months (about a month and a half in right now)

Have you considered signing up with them or someone similar?

  5. I am having a presentation tomorrow. $1000 a month is steep. I wonder if they have any type of guarantee or trial period. I'm wary of what companies I chose to work with for marketing. Right now I am paying this company called mainstreethub to help with my social media stuff. I am actually pretty good at staying on top of it. I think their main benefit is that they set up a mobile site for me that I think has gotten some good responses. I might just revamp my marketing efforts to focus solely on SEO and handle all the social media efforts myself.

1k can be steep for sure. Interesting about mainstreethub. they look like they do some good things. Have you noticed any real business coming from their "HubTargeter" ?

If you do strike it on your own and you still want to keep track of your reputation there's http://www.reviewtrackers.com and http://www.reviewpush.com/ at least, both are two relatively cheap ways to stay on top of it

    how'd the presentation go?
