Not that I want to complain...but I will. Got a 05 Mazda RX8 in with a service code. The dealer looked at it twice but all they did was turn the light off. I scanned it and found the secondary air valve shoddy. Oh, wait... Now I know why the just turned it off.... ya gotta pull the intake off to get to it. %*#&(@ Mazda! Why didn't ya just move it to a different location!!!

Happy Birthday Joe! It takes age to make a fine wine. Have another glass... you'll age just fine too.

Spring must be close at hand, because all the wackos are coming out of hiding. Where's the normal people at? Why do you bring a car in that doesn't act up unless it's snowing outside????
-
Crazy week... From a 66 T Bird to a 2011 F150. A test light on one and a scanner on the other. But, both with the same problem... no pwr windows. It's amazing how the technology has changed. What's next? wireless windows???? LOL

So much for no snow....I didn't get any, but it looks like the east coast got all of it... hope ya got a shovel.

Ah, nothing like winter... what winter? No snow yet, still cold though... too cold for golfing for me.

First sleet/rain/snow mix of the year and the cars are finding the ditches all over town. And...the first one in my neighborhood... my boy. Took the pass. side outside mirror and the crushed the door, but other than that it's all fine. Wonderful way to start the season off.

So, what's wrong with a car with 255k on the dial, greasy hand prints all over it, and the engine is covered in gunky greasy slime. But, the owner says their regular mechanic thinks it's "electrical"...
-
A guy came in today and said, "The battery has to be recharged in my all electric car. Especially if I drive it a lot. I must have a battery drain then." Yes...I'm sure you do.
-
Saw this on a coffee cup, "I'm a mekanic, a mecanik, a makanik,... Ok, I fix cars"
-
I'd like to say I don't piss people off, but I do. I'm set up in my shop to do electrical repair...not engine work, such as major oil leaks...etc... I don't pull engines, headgaskets..etc.. but apparently I ticked this guy because "some guy" told him I did after I told him I don't. geez...

A small business owner was dismayed when a brand new corporate chain much like his own opened up next door and erected a huge sign which read BEST BLACK FRIDAY DEALS. He was horrified when another competitor opened up on his right, and announced its arrival with an even larger sign, reading LOWEST BLACK FRIDAY PRICES. The small business owner panicked, until he got an idea. He put the biggest sign of all over his own shop-it read... MAIN ENTRANCE.

Well the SEMA/AAPEX show is over for another year. I didn't make it over to the SEMA show because of all the work I had to do. For me it was a non-stop jog through the entire place trying to get to the next interview I needed to do. If you were there and I didn't get a chance to say Hi, sorry about that. I thought I'd have some down time but it turned out I didn't have much time to myself at all. Still in all...it was a great event. I'll do it again next year.
-
Monday morning, decided to put a few hours in at the shop because my flight to AAPEX/SEMA convention doesn't leave here until 545. Trying to get a new pwr strng pump in the wifes Lexus... 3 bad pumps in a row...so far, great start for a Monday don't ya think? LOL
-
One more week until the AAPEX convention. This year I'm signed up with AVI (Automotive Video Inc.) as their video host. I'll be running around the convention doing interviews on new products for them. Should be a hoot.

The end of this week and most of next week I'll be out of town. Taking the boy to his first year of college in Denver, Colorado. It's a 11 hour drive from our house, and the van is loaded to the max. I wish him well in his new adventures and I'm also looking forward to "empty nesting". Empty nesting has its good and bad points. I know mom and I will miss him dearly, but I'm proud to say he's going to start college.

This news isn't car related, but it was AWESOME never the less. I had a hole in one today. 150yd par 3... and YES I had witnesses. LOL
-
I'll be at the NACE/CARS convention in Michigan on the 24 and 25 of July. If you're in the area stop by the AVI booth, I'll be there promoting some new adventures with "Gonzo's Toolbox" some video presentations, monthly articles on line video, new tool demos, and much more. See ya there!

Thanks for all the kind words and prayers. And, yes as things to do... all shall pass...even a large kidney stone. For those who are wondering and want the TMI side of the story. The stone is too big to slide through a standard drinking straw without being forced through. Yea...tell me about it. It friggin hurt like you wouldn't believe. Well, it's back to recovery, video work, writing, general shop duties, and everything else. In two weeks I visit "the" doctor
-
Been a rough week. Wed. while driving in to work, I noticed a twinge in my back, that led to the ER. Kidney stone. OMG. had one before, and this one was worse. Sorry to say, no story this week, heck.. no work either. Hardly any sleep, and lots of pain pills. If you never had a kidney stone before.... it's gotta to be the worst pain a man can go through.
-
I'm almost ready to sign a contract AVI (Automotive Video Inc.) I'll be doing videos, teaching, and appearing at numerous conventions across the country. And, still.... running a shop. Maybe not as big as it used to be, but still a shop owner.

Just got back from a week in Florida shooting video spots for AVI. Glad to be home again.
